Recycling Event was a Success
The Village of Hoffman Estates held a recycling event on August 21, 2010 and collected 370 containers of latex paint and over two box truckloads of electronic equipment. Thank you very much to those who participated and volunteered at the event! Residential Energy Assessment Program

The Energy Assessment program is a voluntary comprehensive analyisis of your home's energy and ventilation systems performed by Certified Village staff.  Click HERE to see the detailed program brochure, or call 847.781.2631 for more information or to make an appointment.  This program is grant funded; for more details about Village grants, click HERE.


Village Awarded Two Environmental Awards
This June, the Village of Hoffman Estates was recognized for its efforts to improve the community's environment.  Clean Air Counts, a regional air quality initiative, recognized Hoffman Estates as a Gold Level Community. The Northwest Municipal Conference chose Hoffman Estates as the recipient of the Irwin A Bock Award for Excellence in Public Administration - Environmental Stewardship. Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant
(EECBG) - The US Department of Energy allocated $515,000 of non-matching funds to Hoffman Estates through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  Additional information about the EECBG and other grant applications are posted on our Grants & Economic Recovery page.  Rain Barrel Image


Rain Barrel Program - If you are still looking to purchase a rain barrel MWRD has the rain barrels available at their facilities for $50.  A Schaumburg pick-up location was just added to their rain barrel sites.  For more information regarding the barrels, please visit the MWRD website by clicking HERE.
