ComEd and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity have teamed up to provide Hoffman Estates with $250,000 in possible energy incentives that the municipality and businesses can use for projects which will reduce energy consumption. ComEd is no longer accepting applications for the 2009-2010 program year but will be accepting applications for 2010-2011 funding May 1st. Last year, ComEd assisted each approved applicant with an average of $17,000 to supplement their projects. Find information regarding the application process by clicking here.
Residents play a key role in the challenge! ComEd has several residential programs that may actually pay cash back for small changes made in the home. For instance, ComEd will pay residents $25 AND pick up the old (working) refrigerator hiding out in the basement or garage. Click here for more information about appliance recycling.
