On Thursday, July 24, The Barefoot Hawaiian will perform at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green in the Prairie Stone Business Park at 7 p.m.

Specializing in performing Polynesian dance and song, this 25-member ensemble will take the audience on a virtual trip to Hawaii.

Hoffman Estates hosts
Chicagoland Inline Marathon

The Village and Chicago's own Team Rainbo inline skating club are hosting the second annual Chicagoland Inline Marathon on Saturday, July 26. The start time will be 8 a.m.

The Chicagoland Inline Marathon is designed to bring the community together. Catering to all levels and ages, the event includes an industry skate expo, a free "Young Guns" race for those under eight years old, a one-mile race for those under 12 years old, a recreational half marathon and a full 26.2 mile marathon for recreational, advanced, pro and pro-master skaters. About 500 skaters are expected.

*Please note: during the race (8 a.m. to noon), portions of Lakewood Blvd., Central Road and Huntington Blvd./ Freeman Road will be closed to traffic. Detour routes will be posted the day of the race.

Police Department
open house

The Police Department welcomes all residents to attend its open house on Saturday, Aug. 2. The Police Department, located at 1200 Gannon Drive, will be open to visitors from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m.

This event will feature many interesting displays and activities for those of all ages. Along with a tour of the police station, officers from various units will be on-hand to talk with residents. Several police vehicles will be available for residents to inspect inside and out. Snacks and refreshments will also be served.

Final draft of Comprehensive Plan approved

The final draft of the Comprehensive Plan for the Village of Hoffman Estates has been approved, and is available online here.

A Comprehensive Plan establishes long-range development policies and guidelines for the community. In short, the Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap for the future development of the Village. It includes the physical, economic, environmental, aesthetic and other elements that affect the community as a whole.
